A-PHPBA Council has decided to adopt the IHPBA’s curriculum for Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary surgery training

The HPB Fellowship Registry has been created by the IHPBA Education and Training Committee to assist general surgery trainees who seek further training in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgery. The Registry is organised by three regions - Americas, Asian/Pacific and Europe/Africa as well as by country. Data on each HPB Fellowship has been entered by the Programme Director and has not been verified by the IHPBA. Observership to Japan
A-PHPBA Council has endorsed the observership offered by Japanese Society of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery. Two candidates from the Asia-Pacific region are selected annually by JSHBPS to observe in an institution in Japan for a period of 3 months. The amount of the scholarship is 500,000 Japanese Yen for each successful candidate.

Observership to South Korea
A-PHPBA Council has endorsed the observership organized by The Korean Society of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery (KAHBPS), which is a 1-month International Observership Program (IOTK) for candidates from around the world. The candidates should be under the age of 40. KAHBPS selects an institution according to the successful candidate’s preference, contacts the chairman of the institution and provides financial support. Details of the guidelines and the program will be published when the IOTK is opened for application.
